    What the hell is flvservice?

I just found that all my viewed videos were being saved in bin format in the flvservice folder at C:\Users\kazaam\AppData\Local\FLVService

How can I stop this? It's just taking up space. It seems to be saving pretty much all moving things like adverts as well!

I have tried it with chrome and firefox, and it saves regardless of the browser

Can you identify some process or service with "FLV"?

I don't know, I recently downloaded VLC player, Mplayer and divx webplayer.

I don't know whether that has anything to do with it

flvsrvc.exe is running, what is this?

it says FLVservice for freecorder 4

found a freecorded toolbar uninstalled it.

Thank you for your gratitude. All I really did is point you into a direction. But you solved it yourself. I am proud of you.

In fact, in this folder, it seams that Freecorder store the *unsaved* downloaded files. As soon as you save or remove a file (from the History inteface), this file will be deleted from this folder.

FLVService also related to Ask and Record Toolbar by Applian

I was just running some scans on an old Vista laptop and found the FLVService folder in question. It is located at D:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\FLVService. There is a subfolder ( \lib ) will a dll file that is associated with Applian's Ask and Record Toolbar. Although that add-on has not been installed for quite some time, it was busy making BIN files back while it was active -- over 200MB in just a few months. These files have remained on the drive despite numerous clearings of temp files, history, cache, and so forth. If you're looking to free up memory and have this type of toolbar installed, check this folder -- I suspect that it could accumulate quite a bit of trash over time.
