    Pictures and view

Why is it when you look at pictures in a folder and arrange by day you see three pictures. Where can I find info that explains this.

    Thanx in advance

Don't quite know what you mean mate. If you arrange by day, than it lists the pictures in the order of the day they were uploaded. 3 pictures are because you uploaded three pictures. Are they duplicates of the same picture, or are they listed in a strange fashion?

When i go to my pictures i see folders that i have created and they contain the pictures i load from camera. when i click arrange by day it shows allthe pictures in the folders and creates two others for each picture. It also gives it differant names and each one is differant size.

Here is this as well I copied the pictures to a flash drive so I could take it to a kiosk to develope. when I look at the drive it has the pictures that I want to develope but at the kiosk it shows me triples with differant file names.

Hmm, I really wonder what this all about. i just tried the same on my system and did not get any duplicates. Maybe someone else has an idea, but I really don't know.

PS: one idea though. Clean all your temporary files - e.g. with CCleaner. Maybe the dups come from there.

nah, I'm sure it has to do with the camera just storing multiple photos and then downloading them all, like different "folders" if you will on the camera containing the same photos. Try settings on the camera, or if you can, view the photos in windows explorer (Browse contents or open files, something like that) before you download them, and select which ones to download.

That is a good idea. But where would those other copies be if not in temporary files. He did not see them before.

Check your camera settings. Make sure you have not enabled bracketing. This will give you three different exposures or three different focus points of the same shot, depending on the camera setting.

So he's taking 3 shots of the same image really fast making him think he has duplicates?
Yes exactly. Setting the camera to bracketing gives three images, the first is a little under exposed, the second is correct exposure, the third is over exposed. You can use the images as a "Poor mans" HDR. With the right software you can stack the three images and you get good exposure in the shadows from the over exposed copy good highlights in the under exposed copy and correct exposure in the middle range. Works well with the right software but is not "proper" HDR. See Wiki for more!
