Windows 7: Can't tag some photos?

Can't tag some photos?

I can tag some of my photos, but can't others. I am doing this through c:users:my name:my pictures.

On the photos that I can tag in the details pane "tags is listed", on the photos that I can't tag (through details pane or properties) tag is not listed in the details pane and on the properties box, tag is there, but I can't add anything.

They are all jpeg files, downloaded from same disk at same time.

Would appreciate any help/insight!

You're using Windows (or Live Photo Gallery) to tag?

I use Zoner Photo Studio for basic photo editing and tagging (GPS, copyright, keywords, title, descriptions etc..)

Might not exactly be what you want (3rd party app not Windows) but I whole heartedly recommend it.
The price is right too.

Otherwise have you checked the photos aren't read only?

Using Windows. Never used any of the Live applications. What is weird is it is so random which ones it will allow tagging and which ones it won't. These are all pictures from one vacation.

rThe files are tagged as read only. Right click on the file folder. Select properties. Deselect the read only button at the bottom. You will then be able to right click on the photo, go into properties and add tags.
