    Help Organizing Photos?

Ok so my problem is simple and is probably easy as hell to fix, i just dont know how to do it! :)

I have a folder...in the folder is pictures...i want to organize these pictures in a random order...not by name, or date or anything else. BEFORE with older windows versions...i could just 'click and drag' the picture to where ever i wanted...so say if i wanted to put picture 1 as picture 3...i just click and drag. Well now when i do that it just snaps the picture right back into the place i was dragging it from...so in this case if i try dragging picture 1 to be in place of picture 3...it just snaps right back into the place of picture 1...right where it came from.

So can someone, anyone tell me WHY its doing this and how to fix it? Ive tried looking at the 'sorting' and 'grouping' options but nothing seems to work...thanks for the help everyone.

Hello Mr Willsi, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You will not be able to do this in a Library folder, but you can use the tutorial below to disable auto arrange to be able to arrange files and folders how you like in Windows Explorer.

Windows Explorer Auto Arrange - Disable

In your case, you would be able to arrange your photos how you like afterwards if they are in the C:\Users\(user-name)\My Pictures folder.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Hey Shawn thanks for the reply.

So i have to actually download a file in order to simple arrange my photos the way i want to? That seems kind of dumb for something so simple...i would think it would be an option already that came with the computer

    You're most welcome.

If you wanted to be able to arrange the files in any order in the Windows Explorer window, then yes since there is not a GUI window to let you easily change the settings to do so.

The REG file downloads will only change the settings in the registry automatically to allow you to do this. It's not a program or anything like that that will install on your computer.
