    No file extension

    Hi,

I burned a few movies (.avi) on a dvd from my friends hard drive and copied and pasted onto my PC. But in the movies library it shows file type as "File" without any extension. I even checked the file properties, which also shows no extension.

I can play them on my PC using "open with VLC Player", but I can't set it to default. How can I get Windows to read it as .avi again?
Or how do I convert it?

Check here if the box next to known file types is unchecked

File Extensions - Hide or Show

If so you might have inadvertently renamed the file and forgot to add the extensions..so simply rename them back to something.avi
