    Hi Mitch,

Is there a setting that allows you to configure the scroll to behave like a zoom? Perhaps under the mouse properties under control panel?

    Regards,

I have the same problem, whats wrong with this mouse? There are no such settings.

I think it's just a standard Microsoft Wireless Mouse 1000 no?

I've tried 4 different Windows 7 pc's, it won't zoom in and out using the scroll wheel in Windows Picture Viewer, in other things the scroll wheels works fine...

The Wireless Desktop 800 is weird.. On Microsoft.com/Hardware there isn't even any support documentation or downloads for it.

I think the mouse must be defective as I have the same model and the zoom works on any active picture viewer.

Scrolling is one thing, zooming is entirely different! If scroll bars are showing in the window then my mouse woks for scrolling. I need to hit Ctrl + mouse wheel to get Zoom. If no scroll bars are visible then wheel on its own creates Zoom!

I went to the shop and they opened 3 brand new boxes of "Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800" which features your Microsoft Wireless 1000 mouse.

I tried all 3 on various Windows 7 laptops in the store.

NONE of the three mice zoomed in and out of Windows Picture Viewer on any Windows 7 laptop.

I bought a Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000v2 instead (which features a Microsoft Wireless/Laser mouse 5000).

Not only did this only also NOT zoom in and out of Windows Picture Viewer images using the scroll wheel, but it is also the single worst mouse I have used in over 15 years. It is bulky, weighs a ton, feels like a hemisphere (as opposed to ergonomic) and features shiny black plastic right and left click buttons?? Shiny! As in slippery! I have no idea who advised Microsoft to make these but it is a disaster.

I'm taking it back to the store and going for logitech. My fault for assuming Microsoft was like Apple all hardware&software from the same manufacturer being bound to work, etc.
