    MP4 and Windows Movie Maker

I have a Flip Ultra HD camcorder that saves files in MP4 format. Is there any way to get Windows Movie Maker 2.1 to recognize the files? I have ffdshow installed on my computer, but nothing shows up in the additional options. One of my friends has told me many times that it's possible and that he's done it before, but I can't get it to work. I've been using the free version of AVS Video Editor for a while which works out perfectly, but it leaves a watermark over the center of my video. I honestly don't care about that personally, but I have to do a video project for a class and really can't have the watermark over it.

Windows Movie Maker does not support MP4 files. Best bet is to convert to wmv format or better to use a 3rd party program!

I think VirtualDub will edit mp4 files. I've never seen it leave a watermark.

Video Studio by Corel will certainly handle them but, of course, its not free!

Windows Live Movie Maker will handle the input of mp4 files and is free. Unfortunately it will only output wmv.

Yes I used Prism for a while until they disabled most of the good features after a "30 day trial period".
