Windows 7 does not read Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo

I changed from Vista to Windows 7 32 bit. My Gateway model MD7329u laptop now does not display under My Computer, the Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo camera card when insterted into the Gateway card reader slot. How can I get this feature back?

Re-install the driver is the first thing I would do. Go to gateway and download and install the correct driver. If there is no win 7 driver you can use the vista one but it has to be installed in "compatibility mode".

The only card reader driver for this Gateway is labeled Vistax64x86_Zip. I took the download to the wizard "install drive" step and had no "comptability mode" option. Is there anything else I should try before loading it ?

I ran the Gateway driver for the photo card reader; it did not give me a compatibilty mode option.

Now the memory card appears under My Computer (this is good!), with 490 MB Free of 1.86 GB.
But when I open the device, it says "This folder is empty". This doen't make sense with 1.37 GB of photos on the memory card?
