Windows 7: Sorting various tracks in WMP

Sorting various tracks in WMP

I would like to put all my single tracks (where there is no whole album) into one album in Windows Media Library. I know there is an option to set "Various artits" under the album artist for all these tracks, and to set a real artist under the contributing artists, so that would made WMP to keep it in in one album in library.
But when I'm burning my CDs, copying these mp3 files somewhere else, or in general working with them outside WMP, I want to keep album artist under file properties=>details empty. Is this possible?

No. Once you type in your tags in order to sort files in WMP properly, that's it. You can always change those tags, but that would mean either copying these songs to a whole new location which WMP doesn't have access to (i.e. not included anywhere in the Music Library of Win7) or constantly adding and removing tags. So, no, that's about the simplest answer I can give you, buddy.

Why would you want to keep the tags empty anyway, if I may ask?

It may sound silly, but for example when I put this files on my mp3 player, I don't like it to says "unknow album". If there is no real album title, then I would like it to stay empty. Anyway, thank you for your answer:)

Use an id3 tag editor, Tagscanner for example, then put a single space in the field. It will still be empty but you will not see "unknown album" on your media player lcd window, you'l see " ".

MP3 tracks playing beyond the seek bar
I have a problem with an album that was sent to me by a friend. It is an album of mine that I sent to him to be mixed and mastered. I'm encountering a problem though, a lot of the time when I play the track, the seek bar doesn't truly represent the length of the track. Sometimes if I click to the...

Laugh Tracks
I've come across a couple of movies lately, "Men In Black 3" and "The Avengers" that has weird laugh tracks, which seem to simulate laugh tracks like was used in a lot of comedy series on TV. Not only do they seem inappropriate to the scenes, but are very distracting. Does Hollywood now believe...

Music Shuffle Plays some tracks A Lot and some tracks Never
When I select several bands or albums to play from my music collection, and select SHUFFLE, some bands/albums get played over and over again while some don't get played at all. I don't usually have the time, or ambition to create a custom playlist every time I want to hear particular bands or...
