PowerDVD is probably the cause of your problems.
i have both the power dvd 10 and 7 and i dont know how to unistal them because in the add/remove program i see only the 10 version
well yea but i didnt delete my codec...i need it to play most of my files...
anyway can someone tell me how to solve this:
Well, we can't help you if you're not willing to go through all the troubleshooting steps. If there was no freezing before installation of the codecs and you're only getting it when explorer is trying to display or thumbnail the files that the codecs are used for, then odds become rather likely that is the problem.
Did you install PowerDVD or did it come pre-installed?
it was already instaled but i also instaled power dvd 10 without unistaling the previous version i have because i could not find it in the add/remove programs...actually it was around the time that i instaled power dvd 10 that it started happening.
When was PowerDVD installed and when were the codecs installed?
the codecs were instaled right after i bought my pc
also i dont get any icons in the videos as you can see above.
any suggestions?
My suggestion is to uninstall the codecs, as stated earlier, and install a better codec package that won't cause corruptions.
