I have heard quite a few people like zune. Does it work real well? I have not used it.
Zune works pretty well, if your someone who wants a polished music media player that isn't just a basic interface its very smooth in its appearance. I enjoy it allot for this. The music tagging works ok as well being able to get info for a specific album and narrowing down your search by tracks eventually tagging each track separately if you like. Its a very good looking media player with the way it is laid out as well. I've watched videos on it and its nice but I don't use it for videos. I've heard the end of the Zune is at hand with windows phone taking over the mobile media craze. But they're saying the Zune software is going to stay. I know a few poeple who use the Zune software and have no Zune, they like its interface.

I honestly do not see the Zune software going anywhere.
The Zune itself ... maybe so.
Windows 7 phones actually have Zune built into them and can sync w/the software.

I really like the software myself, and the Zune Pass is great. Im surprised iTunes hasnt tried to do something similar by now.

Zune is my default music player but I still prefer Showtime for my movies.
Although I must admit Zune does a good job with videos and pictures too. Mine will not play any video w/5.1 audio though.

My big question is what the heck I'm going to do for a mobile audio player and that will way heavily on an audio program I'd add to the list. There have only been two things keeping me from buying an ipod, the overall product finish/design and the lack of FLAC support.
That said I still will never have Itunes on my computer. I cant stand apple software it always seems to much up something. The only way I'd ever use itunes would be if it supported media libraries over network and I could get it to talk to my VMware OS X machine.
I have 2 zunes right now, an original and a 120 GB. The 120 is dead giving me some crappy error message, after which I noticed my Zune software usage sharply dropped off. I really need to find another mobile player and the software is going to play a big part in the choice.
