photo viewer automatically "hiding" photos after rotation

Is there any way I can stop my photo viewer automatically setting files to "hidden" when I rotate them??
I can go through manually and do it but I have to do it with EVERY photo I upload and believe me there are a LOT of photos being uploaded to my computer every day. so this will be ludicrously time consuming.
I have set every file I can find to "show hidden" but that isn't the point they shouldn't be hidden in the first place.
It has only been happening this lasti week or so and most likely the children have changed something somewhere, but ts driving me mad.

I have the exact same problems!
I was just working on the pictures, creating new folders, etc. And suddenly I realized the pictures went missing - hidden. but thats not the only thing - also the libraries were automatically set to hidden with no option to change that.
And I have no idea why or how and how to change that.
The only two new things today that happened were: Firefox Update to latest version and connected a new Western Digital external hard drive, but actually didnt do anything with it, was just connected.
it'd be great to get some news on this!!!! Thanks
