FLAC tags shows in media player, but not in explorer

I have this problem with most of my FLAC albums where the tags will show just fine in my media player (foobar2000), but they won't show up in Windows Explorer.

Any ideas on how to make them show in Windows Explorer too?

You would need to find some kind of extension for Explorer for it to support FLAC files.

Hmm, the only one I've been able to find that works with Windows 7 is dBpoweramp, which costs 40$ (but adds a bunch of other things too which I have no use for). Does anyone know of anything free that adds this type of support?

Why do you need them to show in Explorer? Mine don't show up in it either, but I don't need them to. In Explorer, filename is all that matters to me. If I need to edit the tags, then foobar2k, MP3Tag, etc, would be what I would use.

Well, I could go from file name, but then I would have to rename and rearrange my whole music directory as I currently use the tags shown in Windows Explorer to sort my music.

Anyway, I found a trial of the dBpoweramp software that solved my problem. I'll have to see how long it lasts, because it didn't say anything about that. But the site also mentioned a free version somewhere, so it might have been that which I downloaded. Either way, problem is solved for now.

I sort my stuff in Explorer pretty simply....Format->Artist->Album->Song.
So my music library had a FLAC folder, full of folders by each artist, each of which contains sub-folders of each album....so Library-Music-FLAC-Pink Floyd-Atom Heart Mother as an example.

Then I have LAME MP3 conversions set up the same way, that I use on my portable players. Seems simple enough to me.
