    Wow nice service, thanks!
    you're welcome.

Due to a typo, version 1.3.7 has a possible error that can break playback in Media Center under certain circumstances. Most people will not have an issue but just in case you have been affected simply pressing the 'setup new user account' button on the Help TAB of v1.3.8 will correct it.

I suggest you install version 1.3.8 from MajorGeeks

    Thank you for the answer

I checked FFD video and audio configs

and as you said, the SFLauncher.exe and StreetFihgterIV.exe are in the exception list. (32bits and 64bits)

    However it didn't work.

edit: actually, I changed in the Subtitle control the option:

DirectVobSub to FFDShow/Embedded (I don't know what is the difference between External and Embedded, since these two didn't work on my videos) and this allowed me to play videos inside SFIV.

I was using DirectVobSub because when I selected FFDShow, it didn't show subs on my videos.

edit²: well, I checked DirectVobSub's settings and I changed the Loading (Properties/Loading/ and then changed "Always" to "Load when needed" and I checked only "Embedded")

looks like that it worked well on both Videos with subs(that I watch) and SFIV.

if what I changed (the Loading settings) is not a good idea, tell me :)

Personally I choose to turn the subs off as I rarely need them.
Whatever works for you is good by me. Thats what all those settings are there for.

A feature you may not be aware of on the MISC TAB is to save your settings so the next time you clean install the codecs you just need to press Restore and you're all set.

my nod32 found a potential threat:

    Win7codecs\Tools\Settings32.exe

    but i installed it anyways.

i noticed absolutely no difference yet between having this and not having this.

gomplayer still doesn't play most mp4s on my windows 7 64 bit system, and for some mkv files there is still no picture on neither gomplayer nor media play classic home cinema, or windows media player 12, like this one for example:

DJ_Webstar_&_Jim_Jones_(Ft._T-Rex)-She_Can_Get_It-WORKPRINT- ... at uploaded.to - Free File Hosting, Free Image Hosting, Free Music Hosting, Free Video Hosting, ...
DJ_Webstar_&_Jim_Jones_(Ft._T-Rex)-She_Can_Get_It-WORKPRINT- ... at uploaded.to - Free File Hosting, Free Image Hosting, Free Music Hosting, Free Video Hosting, ...

but it plays perfectly fine without having to do anything to it on splash (with or without this pack).

It is a false positve. To adjust Nod32 properly, follow this link

Settings32.exe contains the UNINSTALLER on the Help TAB. It must be installed to facilitate the uninstallation of this software. If your AV software blocked it from installing, you'll need configure your AV software to allow it, then perform a repair using the icon in Control Panel, Programs and Features

These players use their own codecs, not the ones installed by my releases.
You need to learn to configure these players to use external codecs. Also if you allowed GOM Player to download and install the codecs it THINKS you need, you are going to be in a real mess.

Most likely choosing a different splitter for MP4's on the MPG~MP4 TAB will fix your Windows Media Player issue. I am downloading your posted MKV sample for testing ..
    will follow up soon...

Back from testing that MKV you uploaded, everything i tried, different splitters, different decoders, different players, nothing at all would render this file as playable in Windows 7.

    hi sharky
thanks for the quick response. no i didn't allow it to install codecs it thinks it needs lol it was a fresh gomplayer installation.

well actually splash player did render it as playable on my windows 7 64 bit. i think kantaris did as well but i'm not 100% sure as i already deleted all those programs before trying out this codec pack.

strange, i also only had the lite version, maybe it worked because of that haali splitter codec i had installed which i took out before.

my kmplayer still plays it on win7 though:
