    I suggest holding off on installing 1.2.4 || 2.0.3

Versions 1.2.5 and 2.0.4 should be completed shortly. These new apps will give you full control of the codecs used by WMP and MediaCenter in x86 and x64 installations. You will be able to Unlock and also Re-lock the Microsoft decoders with a single click.

Choosing to Uninstall will revert your entire system back to a pre-installation environment, automatically undoing any changes you have made using the interface provided and fully re-instating/re-locking the Microsoft decoders.

Or you can choose to use the Reset All function which will undo any changes you have made using the provided interface and revert your system to a post installation environment setting everything back to the prefered default settings.

    Here are a few screenshots.

    version 1.2.5 changelog:
    - add standalone AMR playback
    - add ability to unlock/re-lock Microsoft decoders
    - allow selection of decoders used by MediaCenter
    - enable full thumbnailing of all formats
    - update integrated MediaInfo to v7.19
    - Improve functionality of Reset All
    - Uninstall returns all system settings to defaults

The x64 release changelog is similar except for the AMR support.

The fact of 15 years of Klite crap destroying peoples systems is a hard one to overcome but,
I'm getting there, 1 user at a time.

Many people install my codecpack preying it will fix thier ALREADY BROKEN SYSTEM. Well I can't perform magic, but I can put together a codec package that is the best ever to come onto this scene.

Of course, dinish is NOT one of my users. One forum members view, DOES NOT REPRESENT the view of many, it is only the opinion of one. The How-To-Geek is not the author of that story you linked to, it is written by a forum member similar to dinish.

Been a beneficiary of Shark007's largesse for a long time now, first with the Vista Codec Package and now with Win7Codecs.

Never had any problems with them and they let me play anything I throw at them.

My only experience with KLite (during my Vista32 days) screwed me so bad I had to do a complete system reinstall.

Thanks Shark007 for all the hard work you do for us.

I've had exactly the same experience with multiple PC's in the past...trying to figure out codecs were a nightmare...these KLite releases kept destroying my working computers.

Then Shark007 came along!!!!! Everything became simple...I could play anything I wanted...my computers stayed stable...Life became good again!!!

Thanks so much for bringing some sanity and working solutions into our lives...we've got better things to do with our time than trying to figure out the arcane world of codecs.

Thanks for the vote(s) of confidence guys!

Seems I had a bit of an issue going on with AC3 audio in AVI containers. A user pointed it out to me on my forums a few hours ago so I corrected the problem and sent out 126 | 205. The fix was somewhat complex and could not be easily solved without a new release.

yeah, I know, i release often. (MajorGeeks receives the releases directly from me)
That doesn't mean you have to update often. (but I would)
