    Hello again
I just reinstalled my stuff on my computer, and these new updates don't seem to be working for me. When i run bluray rips, the sounds is garbled, like if my speakers are broken. Also, i don't get the thumbnails anymore.
I'm using the 32 bit version, on a 64 bit machine.
The same videos work in mpc HC, but i prefer to have WMP working like it used to with this codec pack, thanks in advance

If anyone is experiencing playback issues with these codecs, I suggest you take your problem to the Shark007 forums where assistance is usually offered within hours.

hotnikkelz, install the x64Components addon; your operating system uses this addon for thumbnailing and the Explorer Preview pane. After installing the 64bit addon, open the 64bit Settings Application using 'Run as administrator' at least once, and close it. Now you will have MKV Thumbnails. For FLV thumbnails, you need to set FFDshow on the righthand side of the H264 TAB.

The default WMP is 32bit and If you are using v269 (or greater) of the 32bit Win7codecs, simply select the SUGGESTED settings checkbox in the 32bit Settings Application and your file will play.
(if you select this checkbox in the 64bit app, mkv thumbnails will be broken)

    Wow.

    Upgrade is a good add-on.
Uninstall? This will be that type of "useless button", eh? I donīt see any good reason to uninstall Shark007's codecs.

What does the "- fix AVI /suggested settings" mean exactly for the x64 component?

There is a new release out (v317), and I have to recommend that you install these new versions. (no upgrades) - Downloads: x64Components ,-,-,-,-,- Win7codecs

    Setup and usage Guide.

After installation, rightclick the 32bit Settings Application, choose Run as Adminstrator. When the Reset function completes (this only happens once, on 1st use, to setup the codecs), check the box at the bottom for SUGGESTED settings. Do the same in the 64bit Application.

If you changed settings for testing purposes,
you can always return to this point by using the Reset All button.

The following configuration will play most files with subtitles and also display internal subtitles of MKV files.
To playback MKV's with external subtitles, select any other H264 decoder besides LAV and PDVD.

To access Subtitle controls, while a video is playing, right click either the green VobSub systray icon or the ffdshow icon. To completely disable Subtitles, make that selection in the upper right of the Config TAB. (This will auto-change with H264 TAB changes)

To access multiple Audio tracks, rightclick the Haali (whitish) systray icon. If the file is an AVI with multiple audio tracks, be sure to set haali to split avi files on the AVI TAB. If you need even more control of AVI files, disable the DMO codecs on the SWAP TAB

If Media Center is being difficult, disable the Microsoft Video decoder on the SWAP TAB.

To bitstream audio using an HDMI cable from the PC to an AVR, click the button on the Audio TAB to setup LAV audio. In the Bitstreaming section of the popup window, select the formats your AVR can decode.

If you are having any Audio issues, disable the Microsoft Audio decoder on the SWAP TAB.

Please know, the 64bit app controls Media Center on 64bit Operating Systems
The 32bit app controls most other players such as the default WMP

Here are some hardware accelerated decoders for specific GPU's that use hardware acceleration.
Nvidia users can open the LAV video Config from the H264 TAB - in the upper right under Hardware Acceleration, change None to CUVID
Intel SandyBridge users can select 'Use FFDshow's codec' on the H264 TAB and then go to the Config TAB and
open the FFDshow Video config, for H264 chane libavcodec for Intel QuickSync
Most other GPU's can use any DXVA enabled H264 decoder from the H264 TAB if they want to use hardware acceleration.

Given that the ALAC (Apple Lossless Codec) was just made open source will there be some windows support for this? This would enable WMP to fully support my itunes library at long last.
    Thanks,

ALAC (m4a audio files) has been supported by my codecs for a very long time.
On the Audio TAB there is a checkbox to enable it.

M4A... Not sure how or why this never worked for me before, but it is working now! Thank you for a great set of codecs.
