I am not saying you *have* to use them - I am saying please that your *reasons* being based upon the program marked as unsafe is fallible.
Use what you want - but don't go around telling people that the program is unsafe.
I never said it was unsafe. I stated that two programs (anti virus and anti malware) both reported issues. Shark addressed those and that's fine. I never said it was unsafe, I stated that I didn't want to use something that was reported as unsafe by programs I am using th protect my system.
Everyone is free to make up their own mind and I am not trying to tell anyone not to use them.
been using these for ages, long before win7, never had an issue, and i dont bother to specifically virus scan them anymore, but mines not a mission critical pc, its a movies/net box
Last time I had problems with FLAC, hope no such stuff happens now. Will post after install.
Even though I released Win7codecs 1.3.1 and x64 Components 1.2.1 only hours ago doesnt mean development ever ceases. If you're interested in the latest and greatest I have to offer, I release updates on my forums constantly. Sometimes several versions daily.
If you already have 131/121 installed visit my forums for an update that will allow FFDshow to be used for MP3 decoding in ALL players including WMP and MC and for x64 TOO!
So much for the WMF lockdown. I hacked nothing. I've broken nothing. Uncheck the box, uninstall my software or use the Reset All feature and all native decoding is re-instated.
This breakthrough fixes MANY issues related to MP3 playback whether the relevant audio stream was within a container such as MKV or for standalone MP3's.
Do you have plans to release a celebratory version on October 22nd ?
I do not withhold improvements. I do not have a release schedule.
