    SCREEN SHOT PROBLEM

    SCREEN SHOT PROBLEM
Normally, when I press CTRL and PRT SCRN I am able to open a photo editor and paste the image into the program as a .JPG as in the following image.

Now,when I press CTRL and PRT SCRN I see this cross-hair and message and I can not paste the image into the photo editor.
If I press CTRL and PRT SCRN a 2nd time I am able to paste the image into the photo editor, but the crosshairs and message are visible, as in the following image.

Does anyone know about this problem? How to fix it?

Dick, Do you have any type of capture software installed?

Does your keyboard not allow you to just hit PRT SCN or is there another reason for that?

    Thanks!

I don't know anything about "capture software".
I have been using CTRL-PRT SCRN for years. Are you saying that is no good?

    I should have clarified.

What I meant was do you have anything that you use to create screenshots with?

And when it comes to CTRL+PRT SCN, do you have to do that because of your keyboard? Have you tried just using PRT SCN?

No, it's not because of my keyboard, it's because that's the way I learned to do it and it has worked well for many years.
I just tried PRT SCRN and it works. Thanks, but I hate mysteries and I'd like to find out why I am suddenly getting those crosshairs and note.

Are you still getting crosshairs when using just PRT SCN?

I understand Dick H concern. Why now? After all the years, what happened. Did Dick do the change or has something slipped past the security programs. The cross hairs is a new one for me. Wish I could help but I do have some thoughts. Does any body else use the computer and maybe downloaded and installed something. If so check your programs to see if it is like you want it. If you or another person have downloaded something it might of slipped something in that you didn't notice. A tool bar or maybe a test program. Something you have probably done but I will mention it anyway. Run all your security programs to see if they find anything. My thoughts are simple. If something changes on my computer and I didn't do it, what did make the change? Please get back and keep us informed.
