a corrupted AVI perhaps ?
See if GSpot or MediaInfo confirm, it's an AVI file

(BTW if you converted it yourself: If you plan to make a regular DVD, MPEG2 would be the format to use

Or try VirtualDub...if that program can't read/fix your file the DVD Maker will never read it

Or simply use DVDFlick instead.

I always test my .AVI files with Media Player Classic, included with K Lite codec pack, to ensure its complete, in English and no subtitles.
I then use DVDStyler portable to create an ISO file, burned to disc with ImgBurn. Both free.

ps - slightly different subject but where do your ISO files end up? I posted earlier where I was having trouble burning mkv files. People said convert to iso with MKV to DVD converter and burn with Isoburn. Conversion went fine then I couldnt find the ISO file - should they appear with the other downloads? When I went to burn via browse couldn't find it - thanks - p

My ISO files, made by DVDStyler, are saved to desktop. If the codec pack your using supports MKV files, their should be no need to convert them to anything else.
Why not try DVDStyler Portable, its free and simple enough to be used by grownups.[/QUOTE]

Weird - same problem with Styler - I cant find the files in Q. Only all the major ones - they are in folders in my download section.
Normally when I go to the downloads on my hard drive, I see the above folders + the 'missing' mkv ones (as VLC files)
