Media player error

    Media player error


    I installed some new codecs to render a video, and it works in a DivX player. Now when I play ANY .avi (havne't tested other types) in Media Player Classic. I get this:




    Any help?

    Most likely this happened because you have installed two or more codecs which are not really compatible.
    In cases like that I usually recommend install codec packs. People who create them test those codecs for compatibility.

    So installing something like
    Download K-Lite Codec Pack
    should help to solve this issue.

    I still get the same error. Videos work, they just don't show picture; only sound.

    Ok, if you cann't find it in Control Panel - Programs and Features.

    You can try to install Xvid codec separately, since it is causing the problem.

    I found a way to view all installed codecs, if that helps?

    Most likely your Divx codec here supersedes Xvid (you see there is no DLL file for Xvid). I think you need to uninstall Divx. And install Xvid.
