... but I have no problem playing 24-bit/96kHz flacs.

anyone, any clues?

(I did a search and found Winamp topics scattered in multiple forums so i placed it here)

You need to get Winamp 5.61 - they just introduced 192 kHz support in this version. See the release notes here: Winamp 5.61

It also depends on your output plugin supporting 24/192, and your soundcard.

P.S. If you still have problems, try converting the flac to wav in advance.
