I'm trying to record a 'training' film but want to insert some images to illustrate points but I need to maintain the talking on the film track when the images show. Can someone explain how this can be done thank you.

Not sure if movie maker is advanced enough to do this

what you will need to do is extract the audio from the original clip and then add this back to the completed video after adding the images.

The problem is of course synchronising the audio with the extended video this may not be an issue if the talking is just commentary, but lip sync is I think beyond MM

To extract the audio take a look at Audacity or VLC Player between the two you should be able to extract the audio
