    Hello Lynkdev,

You would usually just need to turn on thumbnail previews for this. The tutorial below can help show you how to. You may need to try more than one option in the tutorial if one of the others doesn't work for you. Be sure that you read all of the information at the top of the tutorial to help make sure you have correct.

Thumbnail Previews - Enable or Disable

    Hope this helps,

Do you have Windows Photo Viewer set as the default program with all of it's default associations (except .gif files) set with it as well?

Check to make sure that you have the icon view size in the Windows Explorer window set to either Medium Icons, Large Icons, or Extra Large Icons to see a thumbnail of the file or folder.

Well im not sure where to check the windows photo viewer associations. But what im saying is i can manually change the view as normal to any view but i would like to see it as medium or large as default when i open up the folders. all those methods did nothing including the reg file..still shows up as details being default..

No need to restart the computer.

Do you have the pictures in the folder showing with at least the medium icons folder view or a larger size?

It will not show thumbnails with details view.

Could you post a screenshot of this to see if something stands out?

I know this, every time i customize the look of the folder and apply to all folders..nothing saves after i apply. I go right back into the folder and its selected to details pane..

i changed the layout to pictures and it goes right back to general items..nothing is saving.

could a service be turned off or something?

apparently looking around shows this is a MS screwup and it will never remember any view setting you give it??
