Windows media player won't let me drag tracks into a playlist

    Hi all

so when i double click on an mp3 etc, the track begins to play with media player, but then when i try to drag another track into the playlist, it fails to appear.

a little symbol pops up when the track is hovering above the playlist, saying something like "add to playlist" but when i let go of the mouse, the track does not appear. if i double click it, it just starts playing as a new playlist.

i've tried downloading vlc as an alternative, but when right clicking on audio files, there's no option to "open with" etc, and i can't drag tracks into vlc either...

    anyone have any suggestions?

    Hello noisemaker

First thought would be to turn it of in programs and features reboot then turn it back on again reboot - Windows Features - Turn On or Off This quite often fixes little issues like this.
