The terms "remix" and "edit" are two completely different things

A remix calls for writing a fresh new beat from scratch or adding effects and samples to the original one, sometimes either digitizing or completely re-recording instruments and vocals.

An edit is exactly what it says: Simple editing of a song to decrease its length and remove sequences that are repeated too many times. Radio stations do this all the time to make songs more "radio-friendly".

So I'm not sure which one you're referring to.
