    WMP Missing due to slipstream

I made a decision several months ago to slipstream a minimal copy of windows onto my laptop (32bit)

I took out WMP from it, I've been trying all sorts of methods to get it back. IE sfc /scannow and the app FixWin

I can't seem to find a way short of reinstalling to get WMP back on here, since its missing from programs turn on/off windows features also.

I need it for several apps to run properly, is there any way I can get it back short of reinstalling windows?

DaxxTrias - you will need to clean install Windows with a source that has not been mutilated.

Yes Shark007, an "upgrade" install will do the trick though so you can keep your programs and user accounts!

I just upgrade installed to get back stuff from the ruined and violated "stripped out" version i thought i'd make with RT7Lite, it's not as simple as it was back with XP and nLite, you could remove so much of XP but windows 7 really doesn't like it.

you probably get alot of your info from the msfn forums.
If you search my name there, I used to be a moderator but havent been back there since '06

I just dont have the time to re-master installation media anymore

upgrades traditionally do not add new features.

I know what you mean shark, It only added basic windows components, IE and Media Player when I check the add/remove windows components, everything else is still deselected. As I'm installed from a hard disk partition with the windows setup media on it, adding and removing components is really quick.

DaxxTrias: follow brinks guide here: Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version I did everything except run in compatibility mode for vista because I forgot, but it worked anyway.
