VirtualDub anomaly occasionally makes files huge.

Odd little blip happened when I trimmed a couple frames from the beginning and end of an AVI movie. I saved it to AVI and the result was a bloated 92 Gig file .
I've seen this happen a couple of times. Usually doing it over again seems to fix it. Any ideas as to what causes this and how to maybe prevent it from happening?

    Best Regards,

I'm hardly an expert on Virtual Dub, but...........

Did you use Direct Stream Copy?

    Or Full Processing Mode??

I'm not sure, but that might make a difference.

If I just want to make simple cuts, with nothing fancy at all, I use Machete Lite. It is free, simple, and works on AVI and WMV without any loss in quality. It has never failed me for that purpose and is much easier to use and understand.

I use the default which is full process mode for video and stream for audio. I only change the settings to stream for both when I have a project which won't stream properly to my Xbox over wireless.

Thanks for the tip on Machete Lite - I will grab a copy of that to play with.
