    Cover Art Editor

Hi, I would like to edit the cover art of video files (especially WMV files). How can I do that? Are there any good editors that can edit the "icon image" of a video file?

So you are actually trying to edit the meta data of the video.
Here's the software that you need: dSHARPiE - WMV Metadata Editor UPDATE 1.4

do you mean you want to change the image on the video thumbnail ,
    i dont think its possible.
if you want to change the file icon then that will take a third party theme .

Thanks! I tried that but the program does not support editing the cover art of a video file. Any other programs that can actually edit the icon of an image file?

If this can be done for Audio files (for example with AudioShell) then I am sure this can be done with a video file too. Can anyone please help me?

Got you now. You wanna edit the thumbnails. Do this. Insert one frame at the beginning of a AVI type video and it won't show at playback ( as duration is just1/30th of a second in duration.) but does show up as a thumbnail in Explorer. Use Virtualdub 1.9.11/1.10.1.

How to do? Here's the link: Can I change thumbnail pictures?
There's also a link below the post to let you do the same for MKV files.
