    Return To "TV on PC"

Further to my Post 3 days ago (TV on PC) and thanks to smarteyeball & C32C3 for their help: -

I was asking for advice in fitting a Hauppage Win TV Nova-T TD-500 TV card and using TV on my 'puter.

THE EXPERIENCE: fitting the card & installing software was OK, until I found that I could not receive channels. To cut short a long and expletive-ridden story, eventually I found that the best way was to fit the card, install Win TV, but use Windows Media Centre to set up the channels. Also, the Haupauge Remote does not work well with Media Centre, so I have ordered a dedicated MCE one from Amazon. MCE also required updating. I think the problem lies with Hauppage's version of Win7 drivers, which I had to download from the Hauppage site. Basically, they do not work, so I used MCE's own from Microsoft.

Works like a dream now and I love the Internet TV as well as Freeview and Radio. So, for anyone following the same path, I would recommend MCE to set up TV on your PC. (As opposed to simply streaming to & from a TV.)

Hi Brian and thanks for that. I have just received my MCE remote, have not yet had time to fit and install, (being delayed by granddad duties) but I am pleased with Windows Media centre as I also store and edit photos, make slideshows etc. I have Microsoft Photo Premium & Library, an old prog I know but I can use it to do whatever I want and it works well with MCE.

However, if I face any problems I will store your information for possible use later, thanks again.
