Powerdvd - this enhances all video on the screen giving it a luminescent shine. The only drawback are its controls.
JetAudio - very good controls and good clarity in video
Windows media player- this one is ok ok. No speciall controls but if your cd/dvd has any scratches this will get stuck pretty often. Also it eats more memory.

Sorry for waking an old thread, but I am looking for a video player that can support some of the more modern videos (VLC just doesn't cut it anymore)

My requirments for the video player are as follows:

Have the "codecs" built into the player
Be able to play ALL Blu-Ray formats (Except 3d)
Be able to show sub titles that are either IMBEDDED in the video or in a external file (srt) <<MUST HANDLE BOTH>>
MUST be in English (or at least be able to display English)
must NOT be a beta or RC.
    must NOT be WMP

Prefer it be in x64 but don't care if it's x32 as long as it supports win7

I have been using XMP player and it's perfect for me. It plays all the formats I need without any problems.

I swear by Media Player Classic... may be basic UI but has very good features like shutting down your PC if you are watching a long movie and fall asleep. And scales videos better than VLC.
