MS Paint: not saving resized pictures to my HHD

Hi,
Recently Paint will no longer save any pictures I re-size. I can find no explanation and I have no idea how to go about fixing it. Would a simple re- install of the software work?
If yes, where would I get it? I have looked but it is dreadfully confusing.
Thank you for your time and attention.

If you have the MS office suite installed, set microsoft office picture manager as the default application for images and it will be easier to use anyway.

As an architect - I often need to save 100's of drawings every day. In the 'good old days' of XP (forgive me!!) it was very straightforward to save drawings in 'chronological' (as opposed to 'alphabetic') order, in any file, on any disc on my system. Also - as long as that file remained 'open'...
