ATI Radeon 4870 getting 2.0 rating in Windows 7?

I have a windows 7 ultimate 64bit install. Right after the install I had a 7.2 rating for 3d and gaming using the latest ATI driver package for my 4870. Windows 7 then updated and I got a warning saying some device drivers have changed please recompute your score or something to that effect I ran the test as it instructed and it put all my video settings to a rating of 2.0. I tried re-installing the ATI dirver package (during installation summary it said the ATI display driver was not installed even though it had been) so I assume some windows update replaced my ati driver. After re-installation of ATI package and reboot I re-ran the score test again and it remains a 2.0 ... is anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it? Thank you in advance.

Download driver sweeper. Uninstall your drivers the normal way. Reboot in safe mode and run driver sweeper. This program will clean up any old ATI files left behind.

Download the ATI drivers again and install. You should be good to go.

I have an ATI Radeon HD 4850, and it gets 7,3 in graphics and gaming graphics. An alternative solution is to fully remove the old drivers is Your Uninstaller. Easy to use, so it should work, then try this:
    Graphics Drivers & Software
Enter the edition of your windows and video card and just go to the download.

You could also try Final Uninstaller.
