I have pictures in my picture gallery that I am trying to upload to a different program. Some of the ones I want to upload are not shown when I pull up my "Pictures" under my folder. I went to the "picture gallery" and thought I could drag them to the folder I want, but it will not let me. Could you help me in finding out how to do this? Thanks
Doesn't the "different program" have an "import" function" to scan a designated folder for those pictures?
Typically, Windows picture apps don't require the pictures to be in a specific folder to be able to be viewed. What is the "different program" that you are using?
Many picture viewers create a database of your pictures. The database "points" to the physical location of the pictures on your drive but don't actually move the files to a different folder. As gigagiggles said, these type of programs have an import function that scans folders/drives to locate the pictures on your system to build the database.
In regards to the pictures that aren't shown when you look in "My Pictures", what are the filetypes for those pictures? It may be possible that those pictures are of a type that isn't recognized as a picture format. "My Pictures" is setup to only show picture files, to see all the files in that folder, you need to right-click on the folder and select Properties, then Customize. On the Customize dialog there is a dropdown box that is labeled "Optimize this folder for:". That dropdown is set to Pictures by default but you can change it to General Items to see everything in the folder.
No, it is a website builder. When I try to upload pictures from my Photo Gallery, it only shows a portion of them, and not the ones I want to upload. When I go to Photo Gallery, I have my photos but they are not in the folder that is available when I try to upload. I know there's something simple to do here, but I'm missing it. Thanks again.
I suspect the Website builder has some kind of filtering setup to only allow certain file types. There may be an option somewhere to override that filter but without knowing exactly what software you are using there is no way for us to say.
No, I don't think that's the case, because when I open up "My Computer" and go to pictures, it shows the same folders and it is lacking the pictures that I want also. There's got to be a way to consolidate them I feel. Thanks again...
If there is a rule against naming names, I can understand one's reticence in ratting out the website builder program or the format/extension of the pictures in question.
Knowing the format or extension of pictures might earn an explorer tweak. Knowing the website builder program might earn a volunteer's hands-on experience working with the picture file format.
I think I got it. In the "file" tab, there is an option to "move to folder". I clicked on that and I think it done the trick. Thanks anyway for your help...
