    Burning Issues

I have been using Roxio software to burn my home made movies. I started having trouble so I uninstalled it. I tried to play a movie, that normally would play, and I received a message stating I needed sonic cine player decoder pack. I ran a search and it is not on my computer. So, I downloaded Free Easy CD/DVD burner and LVC media player both free on line. Now, I can burn DVD's that play on my computer but, will not play on my home DVD/TV. I am not ver computer savy and this is the end of the line for me. I am running XP Service Pack 3. I have been using the same blanks Fujifilm DVD+R with out a problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
