Blu Ray Playing Error - Marvel's The Avengers

    SPECS:
    Custom Built (no model #):
    Win 7 Premium
    Intel Core i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz
AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series Graphics Card
    16GB RAM
Coby 32" TV as monitor (HDMI connection)
    HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW UH12LS28 ATA Device

    Software:
I've attempted all of : CyberLink PowerDVD12, FreeSmith, VLC, MakeMKV, XBMC, and others and none seem to be able to run the aforementioned blu ray disk. I'm kind of bummed about the hoops to jump through to watch blu rays and think I'll be boycotting them for the foreseeable future now.

    Just try this.

Download, install and run the 21 day evaluation version of AnyDVDHD SlySoft Download | AnyDVD, CloneDVD, CloneCD, GameJackal, Any DVD, Clone DVD, Clone CD, Game Jackal

Let it run in the background. Now try to play your BD.

(Also check for any new patches for PowerDVD 12 and install them. Update the PowerDVD 12)

@jumaji it shouldn't have any updates, i just downloaded installed and updated it about an hour before posting this. I'll try your program. @DanRex, pretty Sure. I bought the movie in the US, the computer parts were bought in the US, and in powerdvd setup it stuck me in region 1 or A or whatever that covered both america's and japan and some other things.

What brand and model is the BluRay Drive?

Try other Bd discs and see if there is a issue.
Some drives simply can not play certain discs for whatever reason.

For example, my old LG drive would not play the movie iRobot. It just wouldn't read or recognize the disc. There were a couple others but I can not recall which ones off hand. But replacing the drive with a newer one resolved the issue.

If this is the problem however, it will be easy to identify.
Just open My Computer, and look at the BD Drive after you load a disc. If it shows as empty, the drive can not read the disc and simply doesnt know theres one there. Not much you can do from here but replace the drive with a better one.

If it does show the disc in the drive, and name of it, then it could be other issues such as a HDCP problem. If this is the case, a program like AnyDVD running in the backgroud will fix it since the requirement will be nullified.

Just adding my 2 cents, but your blue ray drive may also need an updated firmware in order to possibly read newer disks, or the firmware it shipped with may have been corrupted.

it reads the disk as existing and gives me the movie title and treats it like a disk, but when i double-click ("open"/Auto-Play) it just says Error with an error message of "D://"

model and brand, i have no clue, if you told me hwo to find it I could, but as I said, it was a custombuild and i don't know what he used. there should be a guide up somewhere on the internet detailing exactly how my computer was made, lets see if I can't find it......
