    .wmv to DivX conversion issues


    Good morning folks.

    I'm trying to convert a video that I exported from Windows Live Movie Maker. The file's current format is .wmv. I want to convert it to divx, but I'm having major issues doing so.

    WMV file size is about 840Mb.

    I tried the Divx Plus Converter, but it stalls. Sometimes it reports a #24 error. avi2divx doesn't work either. It will complete its process, but then it reports the video is corrupt half way through when I play it.

    I'd really appreciate any help I can get at this point.

    You probably need to install the direct show filters.

    I know this was posted a long time ago but just wanted to say thanks for the link and I can recommend the software. I downloaded it as I had some .wmv video files of a friend's wedding and she wanted them on DVD to watch on her normal TV. This software is genuinely free and genuinely works! Most of this type seem to just be full of all sorts of junk but this is simple, clear and works straight away.

I've read several times now that W7MC will run divx out of the box? I have W7 Pro (RTM, legit) & it doesn't seem to see any of my .divx files -do I need to create the file association somehow? Thanks
