WinAmp v.5.57(1) not working in Win7

    Hi there,

just wanted to ask around if there is anyone else not (really) being able to use WinAmp 5 since the v.5.57(beta). Not it is "final" (Build 2810 (5.5.7.2810)) and still the same problem:
I can't open or show it in any way, I only get the program name showing up in the task bar as usual, but I can't minimize/maximize it, I can only use it about the context menu options which are available only because of my WinAmp plugin for Win7 taskbar integration. It might be this plugin (v.1.12, just comes to my mind, will check it), but I didn't find any complains over there.

I do use Aero within my Win 7 Professional x64 installation.
On top of the issue above, I have problems with my taskbar...

What I'm basically wondering about, where have the "minimize/maximize" options gone, I normally found accessible in the programs taskbar context menus?...

If anyone did experience this WinAmp problem or has an idea how to solve it, I'd be really happy :), thanks in advance.

    Kind regards.

    Hi, Welcome to SF,

You can try a workaround which fixed for me i went to C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\DSP_SPS to C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins and renamed the renamed DSP_SPS to DSP_SPS_old then try to launch it and see whether that works

Reference: Winamp doesn't work in Win 7

    Hope that helps

    Hi Jack,

thanks for your help. Yet it doesn't help sad enough.
What is "DSP_SPS" exactly? I might have to rename another file...

Plug ins .... Maybe you could try to rename the skins folder sometime switching to classic skin used to fix
