    Videos sound always off by default


    Hi, Im trying to figure out if this is a windows issue, browser issue, flashplayer issue, or youtube issue. But every time i go to watch a video on youtube the sound is always off by default and i have to use the slider to turn it back on. Once i do that i am ok for that session, i can go from vid to vid and i am ok. But once i close the browser i have to do it again.

    Win 7 64bit pro IE9

    Im trying to elminate things one at a time.

    So it happens on all browsers, IE, FF, Chrome, so since i never really use chrome im assuming its not a browser issue.

    It does not happen when i click on the video installed on my pc. So im guessing its not a windows issue.

    That leaves me with two items left over, flashplayer and youtube. and i dont know how to test those and i have not changed anything lately that i can remember.

    Any ideas where to go from here... Thanks

I went to the plug-in page on Chrome and disabled one of the two adobe flash files - this was one recommendation to get sound to work but it didn't. I have sound on every other audio file but not utube. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi everyone, complete novice at this but here goes! I am having a problem where the sound on WMP is fine when listening to music tracks but there is no sound when watching videos. Strangely mpeg4 files do have sound. All videos play ok but with no sound. Sorry if this has been asked before...
Running Firefox 3.05 on Windows 7 x64 7000 and I get sound from some places and not from others. YouTube is fine, 183 Top Gear - One Tank Fuel Trip (Part 1)- Video is nothing. I have installed ffdshow and still no luck. I also noticed no sound from WMV files. Thoughts?
