How to make a scanned photograph fill the screne.

I have an Epson GT 1500 and a load of 5" X 7" photographs I want to scan but when I had a go and tried to open the slide show facility it showed the photographs as filling the top half of the screen. Is it possible to make some ajustments somewhere to fill the screen as it does when I upload photographs directly from a camera?

Probably in your scanner's advanced settings you can increase the resolution of the image output. This may degrade how the images look though.

Sorry, I'm not that technically bright. How do I do that?

I don't have a scanner like yours, but, open Start/All Programs and scroll to your scanner software. You'll have to look through it for something like scan settings. there should be one for resolution, usually expressed as DPI (dot per inch), set to about 300 or so and try it.
