yes you can watch movies on the laptop, if you have a dvd drive you can just insert a dvd and play it, you may need to open a software to play it but auto play may pop a window open and ask what you want to do with the dvd, you can select play from the list.

you can also buy movies online to download or stream movies from sites like netflix. ( i think you can ,i dont use netflix)

also there are full movies that are free to watch on youtube.
just type full movie in the youtube search box and take your pick.

im sure there are other ways but these are a few to get you started.
there will be more suggestions soon .

You need to purchase the movie first that you want to watch then use a media player software such as "Media player classic Home Cinema" (use Google to search and download it) to play the movie on your machine. MPC-HC is one of the best media player out there!

or rent I would say, you can stream from netflix if you have an account/membership. also Hulu is a great place for movies. you don't need a membership for the free ones, but the membership gives you higher quality streams and more selection of movies and shows. each of these are $7.99 per month I think...
(hulu is ad supported but has shows that are on TV next day netflix is ad-free but doesn't get some shows till the entire season is finished)

Also check out Crackle. it is ad-supported streaming and has a large selection of older movies and some new ones -usually not the"block-busters" but a good bit and its free. All of these play in your browser so you don't need to use a media player.
