Can't install HP MediaSmart Photo/Video/Movie - get Error Message

My NoteBook originally came w/ Vista Ultimate & HP gave me a a disk for upgrade to Windows 7.
Doing another System Recovery and while upgrading to Windows 7 it was recomended I uninstall HP MediaSmart Photo/Video/Movie since it might not be compatible w/ W7, which I did. After recovery/upgrade I find out HP has me reinstalling the same version. However, it will not install. I get the following message:
"Error applying transforms, Verify that the specified paths are valid. C:\HP\tmp\src\1033.mst
Never had this problem before & I have done numerous System Recoveries.

As a long time HP user I must say that those HP MediaSmart apps are the most useless garbage you could ever install on your PC.

That being said, if you really insist on installing them and filling your system with such garbage, go to HP Support & Drivers | United States, enter your HP product name or number, select your OS and download & install MediaSmart apps you want to. You will find MediaSmart apps under the category Software - Multimedia:

    VistaKing,
Already decided to do “another” recovery. I am not exaggerating when I say I have wasted more of my life playing tech & resolving problems w/ my computer than actually using it as a tool. I have wasted too much of my life, while the big shots at Microsoft & HP are laughing on their way to the bank.

Then solve all your problems by doing a Clean Install as advised by Vista King above! Don't install any HP rubbish! You won't regret it!

Doing a Recovery will add back all the HP bloatware. The link I am linking you to is a Legit Windows 7 iso download that you could use to get a clean installation of Windows without the HP bloatware. Just use the Product key under neath your laptop to activate it. Use the Phone option if the internet option doesn't work.

If you do another recovery you can pretty well guarantee that you will be back where you started in no time at al. A clean install really is the best option. Most of us would recommend doing this on the very first day that a new PC arrived from the manufacturers especially if it was an HP machine!.
