And how are you switching the renderer to Haali? What specific application are you using to switch it, which video player are you using to play the file, and what video type (extension and codecs being used)?

Like I said in my previous post, I am using the CCCP codec pack with MPC as my media player. The output renderer can be switched by pointing to Tools --> Options --> Playback --> Output. Using the CCCP pack, I can play pretty much all the formats I need (AVI, MP4 and MKV).

WMP12 seems to be a turkey for a lot of us. I did a completely clean install of Win7 Ultimate onto a bare drive, updated all my drivers, including my Asus/Nvidia E8400 card, then popped a DVD into the drive; it looked like crap, pixelated and "jaggy."

And it wasn't just my DVD, the included WMP12 sample vid, the wildlife one, also looked like crap! I tried the CCCP and Sharky codecs and neither one made any difference. I messed around with the damned thing for ages, then nuked the drive, did another clean Win7 install, downloaded Media Player Classic Home Cinema... and all is well! (No additional Codecs were installed, just Win7 + MPC-HC.)

Question: How can a FREE 3rd Party Application out-perform Microsoft's flagship media player on their own flagship OS?!?!?! Something's not right with THAT picture!!!
