Photoviewer no longer working

Hi there. All of a sudden my windows photo and fax viewer no longer works. I click on a picture and nothing happens. It always worked. Even when I click to open it with the photo galley, no response either. Nothing, zilch. Online, people talk about shimgvw.dll. When I try those things, there is always an error about it not being a valid dll. My pictures still have in properties to be open by Windows Photo and fax viewer. I didn't install anything before this happened. Thanks for helping.

You might try turning Media features off and boot when prompted then return and turn them back on ?

Thanks, ThrashZone. Turning Media features off hasn't done anything for me. I'm looking into other troubleshooting steps as suggested.

Hi gallicbear

This is not a fix but do have a look at JPEGView - Image Viewer and Editor its free and very customisable.

I like JPEGview! In a sense more practical than Windows Photo Viewer. Thanks.

Almost anything is a better alternative to windows photo viewer,
Never heard of jpegview but I'm glad you found a workaround,
Cheers.
