    Best Audio/Video Settings/Players for Win7.

Hey guys, I am trying to fix my problem from VLC player. It's basically all blocky and the OPENGL and DirectX methods do not work for me.

So I am trying to use WMP/WMC now. I have downloaded and bought certain things to maximize my video/audio quality.

    AC3Filter
CoreAVC 1.9.5 - this uses "CUDA" from Nvidia, so i downgraded my video drivers to use this CUDA. But now i can't find Nvidia settings, so i might have to upgrade back to the newest version of the suite.
    fddshow - uninstalled for now.

Basically, I dont use DVDs. I have x264 and AVI files with movies and shows. I then use my TV with a DVI Cable to watch these shows via dual monitor setup.

    Questions:

AC3Filter, how do you get this to work? and no that its working properly and to perfection.
With Bluray x264 720p/1080p files, or .mkv's - The sound is low then high at times, i always have to adjust the volume when watching these, it's annoying. How can i fix this?
CoreAVC - I heard someone say the Halli software does not work with windows 7. How can I use CoreAVC to work properly with Windows 7 and WMP/WMC.
ffdshow - someone said do not use with CoreAVC/AC3Filter.

My Goal: To have the perfect movie/audio setup.

    Thanks in advance!

Whenever I see these threads about codecs and getting things to play great, I always think "tell 'em about PowerDVD."

It will play everything except .mkv. It can play x264 but not in .mkv container. Simply rename most .mkv to .avi and they'll play in PowerDVD. Or you can use tsMuxer to remux them to .ts or .m2ts.

There are audio options to get full dynamic range (which you don't seem to like by your post), increase volume for noisy room, etc...

You also have the choice to use hardware acceleration for the gpu or not. Without, there are clever video enhancements that may be put to use. With, your system will use almost no CPU to play.

Get a remote control and you'll really be in business. I myself am using the ancient ATI Remote Wonder and it works flawlessly in apps including WMP, WMC, PowerDVD, Winamp....good stuff.
