burning to rewritable disc in windows explorer

I burned a downloaded audio book to a brand new rewritable disc from the music library. When i insert the disc into any other CD player i get an error message. How come the disc only plays on my windows explorer (my laptop)?

Is it finalized?
Probably not - it will only play in comp until finalized.

I've never liked rewritable discs.
