    Windows Photo Editor Problem

    Hello!
I've been editing photos with Windows Photo Editor for a long time.
I open a photo in Windows Photo Gallery and then, at the top, on the right, I click on the " Edit, Organize, or Share " tab and my opened photo, along with the rest of the photos in the folder would load up in the editor. Then , I use the contrast, color warmth, etc.
Now, when I try the above, no photos will load. For some reason, my videos are displayed in the editor. I tried the search for photos option and still, no photos will load. I tried right-clicking a photo and select edit, but it sends the pic to Paint.
Is there anyone that could shed some light on what the heck I'm doing wrong?
    Any help is deeply appreciated!

Yes, I tried Gimp and Paint.net and my photos loaded there just fine. I'm not used to these programs, so that's why I haven't used them.

Gimp is pretty complex. But if you have the MS Office package, you could try the Office Picture Manager. That is pretty simple. More option you have with this: http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm

Thanks! The Faststone is just what I needed!
I've scanned about 500 cards from a card game and I need to edit them, and you've saved me a lot of time.
Faststone also loads every photo in the folder. Sweet!
    Thanks for helping me, WHS!!

Click the Orb (Start) and type default in the search box. Select Default Programs and press Enter. In that window, click on Set your default programs.

In the next window, select Photo Gallery in the left pane and check how many default file types are used. The count is under the right pane. At this point, you can either select all picture file types or chose the file types that will default to Photo Gallery. Since you have other edit programs, I would select Chose defaults for this program.

In the last window, scan down to file type jpg and check the box. Click on Save.

Now, when you double click on a jpg file type, it will open in Photo Gallery. If you right click on a jpg file type, you can still select Open With and choose another program to open the file.

My photos open in photo gallery, but when I open the editor from photo gallery, (edit, organize or share tab), the photo and other photos in the folder do not appear. There's a photo search in the editor, but I get nothing when I search. Something has changed, and I don't know what it is.
Thanks for trying to help me.
