    Hi thanks,
I will assume you need to open IrfanView to tag the files ?
Otherwise you can change the file type association to Windows photo viewer and test if the options are available to add to the details pane,
You can scroll down to just jpeg listing,

Or this one might be more straight forward,
Default Programs - Associate a File Type or Protocol

I have tried several different image viewers, and nothing changes. Please see my screen shots to show there is no place to add/edit tags. Very frustrating. Thank you for your continued help though! :)

I wonder if it's a permission problem since C:\User is system owned. Just for a test, Create a new root folder named "Test Pictures". (C:\Test Pictures) Copy and Paste a few of your pictures to this new folder. Check to see if you can mod them then.

    Hi,
How many viewers/ editors have you installed ?
I would personally uninstall all third party programs,
Use the restore default file type for all files types on the previous link,

The only other item that is a possibility is Cannon has scanned the files as some sort of hybrid jpeg ? or somehow locked the files properties ?

Possibly you might try these free very good scanners,
    Post the scan results,
Review Jacee’s instructions to run Adwcleaner here post #7,
Ignore the title of the thread,
    Instant Savings App
Screen shot of the download button to use for Adwcleaner
You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).
Uncheck the box to Activate the Free trial from the final install options,

    http://www.superantispyware.com/?tag=SUPERANTISPYWARE
This one is the longest up to 4 hours, the others are only about 45 minutes,

Sorry I missed Carwiz's post please try it

I created a temporary directory in C:\Test Pictures, but I get the same result. I can't add/edit tags.

I wonder if Irfanview is causing it? Your snip shows your example as file type "Irfanview .jpg".

    I use IrfanView--No Problem.

Check to see if your Details Pane shows any of the parameters. (See image below)

I'm thinking it's some kind of 3rd party library, picture or folder software interfering with Windows Explorer. Is your Windows up to date? Please run this Diagnostic Utility so we can take a look at what's running on your system and how it's set up. Allow time (up to five minutes) for all the steps to complete before uploading the zip file.
