    Recording TV programs

I didn't know quite where to post it so am putting it here.

My partner has a Foxtel installation and records the shows as and when they are put out.
Now some of these are in series form and it would be good if we could record from the Foxtel hard drive to a DVD recorder / player the series to watch away from home.

Does anyone know if this is possible or a legit thing to do as I am not sure because one has paid to watch it via a recording. Now if it turns out to be illegal then that is that but it would be nice to be able to do this.

Since the two posts here are from Great Britian and Australia, I am guessing that Foxtel is not a USA thing. What is it? Is this a satellite TV service? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hey John .. They are not very expensive ... But i was thinking does your box have two scart sockets ? .... If so i would imagine it would be possible to record that way .. I know the Foxtel iq has two .. Or maybe you have HDMI and a scart also ...

Brian I don't know mate what it has on it as Lynne had the thing before we got together but I will try and research those ?scart sockets (haven't come across them before) and if I don't understand what they are I could send a pic of what we have got.
What I do know is her recorder is a pre digital model (analogue) and will not record the digital we are on now so it might even mean we shall have to get a new recorder / player. But no matter as they are usually not that expensive now eh?
