I installed NVIDIA latest driver 191.07 and the movies image are UGLY...very bad. The faces have a lots of noise. Trying to fiz it, i enable the NOISE REDUCTION and Edge Enhancement and dont work. I´m using Klite Codec Pack. I´ll try the Shark Codecs to see if this problems ends. Can you help to make the image looks good like was on Windows XP ??? Thanks!

What graphics card and drivers are you using?

FYI, this is a common problem which I, and many others, have and it still has no answer as to why it happens for some people.

Uninstall all traces of the k-lite pack before installing the shark codecs.

I have an 8600GTS and if you're in the same boat as me, codecs aren't going to do anything for you.

Apparently that's a common anomaly with NOD.

I hate the video quality in Windows 7. Video is darker and dull. I have been trying to find how to make it sharp and vibrant like in Windows Xp.

Under XP I was able to play mvk in WMP but in Windows 7 mkv playback was jerky. I tried K-Lite, All-in-one and Shark but found no improvement.

Then I found out that alg.exe may be the culprit. I disabled it and mkv plays with no problem at all. Surprisingly, video quality improved tremendously.

I am now running Shark codecs and with alg.exe (Application Layer Gateway Service) disabled.

Try that, it may help you.
