same issue and many years later
Turning on hardware decoding in codecs section removes 90 of the visual defects but creates a new problem in that when skipping, it gets artificacts for anything of around 3-10 seconds like it cant handle skipping, VLC seems a complete mess on my machine.Computer Type: PC/Desktop
